Every woman has their own pattern of transition with different symptomatology.


Common patterns include:

  • Excess estrogen & low progesterone

    • Driven by anovulatory cycles.

  • Low estrogen & low progesterone

    • Driven by more ovarian failure & lack of ovulation.

  • Fluctuating estrogen & low progesterone

    • Dependent on how much estrogen is being produced by the ovaries and adrenal glands.

    • Fluctuations can be caused by anovulatory cycles, excess estrogen in general or just low estrogen in relation to progesterone.

  • Excess estrogen.

  • Low progesterone.

  • The amount of testosterone being converted into estrogen.
